inTRAlinea is the online translation journal of the Department of Interpreting and Translation (DIT) of the University of Bologna, Italy. It is an online journal and aims to publish high quality academic research on translation-related subjects. The entire content is open-access to allow maximum distribution, published on an annual basis and uses double-blind peer-review for all submissions.

My article “A proposed set of placement strategies for integrated titles. Based on an analysis of existing strategies” is part of the Special Issue “Building Bridges between Film Studies and Translation Studies”, edited by Juan José Martínez Sierra and Beatriz Cerezo Merchán.

The article gives an overview of creative subtitling of additional languages used in recent commercial films. Based on a quantitative analysis of placement strategies of these integrated titles, possible shortcomings and improvements are discussed and the most frequent strategies are summarised in a first set of basic placement strategies.
